“SHELL MAKE THE FUTURE” – LAUNCH EVENT AT MORRO DA MINEIRA – EDELMAN UK

In September 2014, Shell launched a pioneering project in the local community of Morro da Mineira in Rio de Janeiro, re-furbishing a run down community football pitch and creating a first of its kind innovative energy solution. The project aimed to awaken young people's interest in science and inspire more people to think about the future of energy. 200 specialised kinetic plates were installed under the field, to generate energy for the pitch lighting to allow the children a safe environment to play into the evening, energy generated directly from the footsteps of the players. The event was part of Shell’s Campaign - #makethefuture and included a press conference attended by the World’s Press with Brazils’ World Famous Football striker Pelé acting as the Ambassador for the project. FSR Produções was commissioned by Edleman UK to manage and produce the location logistics for filming material for Shells Make the Future promotional video, producing the interviews with Pele, Shell senior spokespeople, the Favela Community Leaders and the Designers of the Kinetic Tiles.
